As a sizzling 10-piece band, Art Weiss and Heatwave have swept the scene in South Florida. Art has performed for the likes of Chris Evert, Lynda Carter, Olivia Newton-John, Wine Fest, plus WSVN Channel 7's own Laurie Jennings. In addition, they have turned it up a notch for the Florida Marlins and many other high profile events. The front line features three incredible vocalists, who deliver big on an endless list of songs in every genre.

TONY CRUZ

This passionate singer/songwriter from New York can stir emotion in the hearts and minds of any audience. Tony, who has performed with such noted artists as Patty Labelle, Natalie Cole, James Ingram, and Will to Power is no stranger to the stage. His album, "Crusin" hit the stores in the Fall of 2003 and has been met with rave reviews.

ARLENE COUTEE

From the west side of Chicago, home of gospel, blues, and jazz, she has worked with platinum R&B artist "Sparkle", artist/producer/songwriter Darius Brooks, Vickie Winans, Donnie McClirkland and many others. With a wealth of experience, Arlene delivers an unforgettable, crowd pleasing performance, time after time.

GRISEL WASSERMAN

This truly talented young songstress will amaze you the moment she begins to sing. Besides being a noted songwriter, Grisel has toured with Latin sensation Cheyenne. In 1995, she sang for President Clinton, and recorded a hit album with the group Fresco.

JAMES COTMON

A true genius at his craft, James is the foundation that holds the groove together in this phenomenal band. Grover, James Moody, Nathan Davis, Geri Allen, The Farrelly Brothers' motion picture "Stuck On You", The 19th U.S. Army Band 2 years, Count Basie Band, Richie Cole, Dee Dee Bridgewater, are just a few names James has successfully worked with during the course of his career.

THOMAS HATCHER

This Pittsburgh native whose unparalleled virtuosity on the bass is matched only by his own incredible voice and ability to arrange vocals. He has single handedly raised the bar when it comes to talent in South Florida. Having toured the country for ten years with groups such as Roy Ayers, Jermaine Stewart, No Mercy, Floetry, Anthony Thompson, Balil, and Leesa Richard, he has now found the right combination of elements with the South Florida Heatwave.

YOEL HYMAN

This extraordinary keyboardist was amazing audiences in the Northern Tri-State area for years before he brought his unique style to South Florida's Heatwave. Having performed with John Scofield, Frank Foster of the Count Basie Orchestra, Rosanna Vitro, Al Chez of the Paul Shaffer CBS Orchestra, Yoel has had the opportunity to pick the minds of some of the truly great musicians of our time. Through his tasteful use of vivacious licks, and extensive knowledge of music, Yoel compliments and completes the Heatwave.

ART WEISS

The founder and instrumentally talented leader of Heatwave Music & Entertainment has been in and around the music industry for most of his life and has experienced the many changes in styles, beats and vocals that have taken place over the last several decades.

DEAN EAVES

A University of Miami graduate, has performed with many great artists such as Gloria Estefan, Paul Simon, and Jon Secada. He has toured throughout the world with The Temptations, The Platters, and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Dean has contributed to great jazz recordings with such artists as Duffy Jackson, Pete Minger, and Ira Sullivan.

STEFAN KLEIN

A South Florida native, has been on the scene since he could pick up the horn. He has toured on some of the largest cruise ships, and played with some of the great salsa bands that South Florida has to offer. A University of Miami graduate, Stefan was one of the vivacious members of the popular "Septembers" band in the late eighties. He has toured throughout Spain, and is the senior member of the Heatwave band celebrating his 10 year anniversary in 2004.

RAFAEL SOLANO

Born in the Dominican Republic, moved to Washington, D.C., in the late 60's where he began his musical career. He began developing his diverse playing style by incorporating his Hispanic roots in American styles. In the mid 80's, Solano moved to Miami and became part of the evolving Latin music scene. He has since performed or recorded with numerous artists, such as Paquito D'Rivera, Placido Domingo, Jon Secada, Gloria Estefan, Chayanne, Grace Jones, Ricky Martin, Stevie Wonder, Roberto Perera, Nestor Torres, Vic Damone, Daniela Mercury, and many others.
